About

Except on Tuesdays is a blog by Nicholas Pappas, looking at usability, user-centered design and human-systems integration. This blog is as much an opportunity for me to share and comment on usability, bad design and other tid-bits as it is a chance for me to learn and develop in the field.

In 1998 I received my undergraduate degree from Purdue University in computer science. Immediately after graduation I began working at Lucent Technologies as a software developer, where I helped to design and develop a web-based user interface to an existing application environment.

I received my Master degree in 2004 from the Cognitive Systems Engineering Laboratory at The Ohio State University. My research focused on computer supported cooperative work, developing an asynchronous collaboration tool to support troop movements. In addition to my research I developed a strong interest in computer vision and user interaction with virtual environments.

Since 2005 I have been working with the Human-Systems Integration group at The Boeing Company, Phantom Works.
